01What We Monitor

  • Wallet funding, spending and withdrawals.
  • Bill payments, airtime and data purchases, including bulk airtime.
  • Virtual dollar card creation, funding, spending and withdrawals.
  • Airtime to cash conversions.
  • Order activity for social growth services, SMS, virtual numbers and digital products.
  • Login, device and account change activity connected with payments.

02How Monitoring Works

We use automated rules and, where appropriate, manual review. Rules are based on risk, and they are tuned over time to reduce false alerts while keeping detection effective.

03Examples of Triggers

PatternWhy it matters
Large or sudden spike in funding or spendingMay indicate account takeover or laundering
Repeated transactions just below a limitPossible structuring to avoid checks
Funds in and out quickly with little use of servicesPossible pass-through or layering
Many accounts using the same device, phone or bank accountPossible multi-accounting or mule activity
Repeated failed payments or card declinesPossible card testing or stolen instruments
Transactions inconsistent with the verified profilePossible misuse of the account

04Alert Handling

  1. An alert is generated by a rule or raised by staff or a partner.
  2. A trained analyst reviews the account, the transactions and the customer's verification record.
  3. The analyst closes the alert, requests information from the customer, or escalates it to the Compliance Officer.
  4. Escalated cases may lead to restrictions, a report to the authorities, or account closure.
  5. The decision and the reasoning are recorded.

05What May Happen to You

While we review activity, we may delay, hold or decline a transaction, temporarily limit your account, or ask you for information such as proof of identity or source of funds. We try to do this quickly and proportionately.

Where the law prevents us from explaining a restriction, we may not be able to share the reason. This is a legal requirement and not a judgement about you.

06Your Cooperation

Please reply promptly and truthfully to our requests. Delays or incomplete answers can extend a restriction, and failure to cooperate may lead to suspension under our Account Suspension Policy.

07Data, Retention and Review

Monitoring data is handled under our Data Protection Policy and kept for the periods required by law and our partners. We review our rules and thresholds regularly, and after any significant fraud or compliance incident.
